Slimers beware, the all-female reboot of Ghosbusters has chosen its cast. The film will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and current SNL cast members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After Ghostbusters’ original director Ivan Reitman opted out of the project following Harold Ramis’ passing last year, Paul Feig was chosen as the reboot’s new director. With the original cast not intact, Feig reconceptualized the film as all-female leads, something Bill Murray had already encouraged. Both Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy have already worked with Feig for 2011’s Bridesmaids.
The Ghostbusters reboot is looking to start shooting in New York City this summer.
