After releasing the fifth season premiere date for Louie and ordering a new series Better Things from Louie recurring cast member, Pamela Adlon, FX has also acquired the television rights to Louis C.K.’s new stand-up special, Louis C.K. Live From the Comedy Store.
FX CEO John Landgraf announced the news at the Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday.
The comedy special will be made available to fans first on Louis C.K.’s website, LouisCK.net, shortly after the comedian’s current record-breaking run of shows at Madison Square Garden closes, where C.K. became the only comedian to sell out three shows on the same tour in the history of the legendary arena, with a fourth now added. C.K. has experimented with releasing his material online before with success, such as with one of his previous specials, Live From the Bacon Theater, as well as his never-released directorial debut Tomorrow Night.
The hour-long special will then premiere on FX in the spring. It’s his second special with FX, and sixth overall.
