What we eat and how we eat is becoming a more social experience than ever before. The act of gathering and sharing a meal has transformed and exploded on social media. We’re now gathering around food blogs, Facebook accounts, and Instagram feeds to share meals, tips, and inspiration.
Instagram has changed how we share food and how we think about and experience food. Farmers, chefs, cookbook authors and food photographers offer us a glimpse into worlds we otherwise would never experience: raising and growing the foods we eat, working in a lively restaurant kitchen, or creating a cookbook. These behind-the-scenes images have expanded our world and love of food far beyond the dinner plate.
Food is ubiquitously shared and visually devoured on social media. From farmers to foodies, small-batch producers to home cooks and even a cookbook-only bookstore, these accounts inspire us by sharing unique flavor combinations, dishes that make us salivate and show us how to re-imagine and fall in love with food in a whole new way.
