The Best Sports Movies Bracket: A Champion is Crowned

It’s Friday, which means we’re ready to crown a champion in the Super Bowl week SPORTS MOVIES BRACKET! Voting was insanely close in the Final Four and title matches, and without further ado, it’s time to release the results:

1. Hoosiers def. 1. Rocky, 54.3%—45.7%

There it is. This was Rocky’s fourth match-up, and unlike the actual Rocky IV, when the Italian Stallion took down Ivan Drago, Hoosiers was a bridge too far. Believe it or not, though, the margin actually widened to this point late in the voting, and was way, way closer throughout the day.

1. Field of Dreams def. 1. Caddyshack, 51.9%—48.1%

A bit of a disappointment for me, as I always love to see a comedy pull through, but you know what this means, don’t you? It’s Hoosiers vs. Costner, Round 3, for all the marbles! Hackman and the Hickory boys have already shown Tin Cup and Bull Durham the door, but you know the old saying: Nobody beats Kevin Costner three times in a row. Will it hold true? There’s just one way to find out…

Drumroll please…

1. Hoosiers def. 1. Field of Dreams, 52.4%—47.6%

COSTNER NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! THEY’VE KILLED YOU THRICE! THEY’VE KILLED YOU THRICCCEEEEEE!

I feel like we need an entirely different Costner clip to commemorate his great performance in this tournament, despite the eventual loss.

But we can’t go out on Costner. Hoosiers is the rightful winner and the undisputed champ, and because I thought this day would come, I’ve been saving up my favorite clip. Roll it:

I PLAY, COACH STAYS!

Thanks to everyone who voted and read this week, and enjoy Sunday’s big game.
