For almost 40 years now, Saturday nights on NBC have been punctuated by sketch comedy and variety acts, turning featured players into comedic powerhouses and successful sketches into feature films. And as a live show, there have been some spectacular hits and misses as well as a bit of controversy, but hopefully plenty more memories with the recent addition of more acts to the 40th anniversary special.
Airing two weeks from now, the three-hour primetime special will host some notable guests from seasons past, now including Justin Timberlake, who will be returning to the SNL stage after his induction into the “Five Timers Club,” Paul Simon and Taylor Swift (both have hosted and performed), as well as Kanye West, whose past antics will prove for an interesting and entertaining show.
Others slated to appear include Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Jimmy Fallon, Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Andy Samberg, Christopher Walken, Betty White, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and many more.
Surprise guests and more past castmembers are sure to pop up throughout the special, so be sure to tune in on Feb. 15 at 8 P.M. EST on NBC.
