Judd Apatow has made it his business to help comedians/actors break through, whether it be Jason Segel and Seth Rogen from Freaks and Geeks or Lena Dunham with Girls. His newest protégé, Amy Schumer, has been working with him on their newest film Trainwreck, with the first redband trailer out today.
Trainwreck centers on Schumer’s character, Amy, a journalist for a men’s magazine, who has been raised from a young age never to settle down. She meets a doctor, played by Bill Hader, whom she has a one-night stand with and is assigned to interview.
Schumer wrote the film and Apatow will be directing and producing, with a massive cast that includes Vanessa Bayer, Brie Larson, John Cena, Marisa Tomei, Jon Glaser, as well as LeBron James.
Trainwreck will be released in theaters in July and will premiere at SXSW.
