Soo Joo Park was recently unveiled as the newest spokesmodel for the French beauty brand, L’Oréal Paris, the first Asian-American to nab that particular role.
The California native began modeling at age 26, a little late in the game, but has since shot to the top with her provocative style and platinum hair.
Park’s announcement comes on the heels of another iconic moment in the industry’s move towards inclusivity, with pop star Rihanna breaking barriers as the first black woman to be the face of Dior.

NBC News; notes L’Oréal’s move may come as a result of the industry attempting to keep pace with an increasingly diverse consumer.
“It’s such an honor, but I also think the world is getting smaller and the globalization of commerce is influencing industries like beauty and fashion,” Park told Style.com. “So to be the first to represent a global brand is a huge honor. But I don’t want to be just that one thing; I want to be the global ambassador.”
Previous spokeswomen for the brand have included Frieda Pinto, Karlie Kloss, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria.
