For a short film titled “The Nobodies,” there sure are a lot of famous people in it. “The Nobodies” boasts names such as Jim Gaffigan, Tony Hale, Jack McBrayer, Sutton Foster, Ellie Kemper and Tommy Dewey in its cast.

The new film follows Dusty and Greg and is the “story of two ‘nobodies’ who struggle to figure out what it means to be ‘somebody.’” There’s plenty of cringe humor and clever cameos to go with the touching and heartfelt message at the heart of “The Nobodies,” which was designated a Vimeo Staff Pick.

Greg Bratman and Dusty Brown, who play the two protagonists, also wrote, directed and scored the film, including the original song “Love Will Win The Day.” It was born out of Greg and Dusty’s personal lives, going back to their friendship as awkward high school students, when they first began playing music together. Their creative partnership continued through the years, eventually leading them to form a New York comedy act called “The Barrel Brothers” with a regular show at the Upright Citizens Brigade. The film is their directorial debut and touches upon themes they have focused on in their work, such as the absurdity of modern masculinity and being an outsider.
