The latest group hopping on the all-acoustic tour train is ‘90s staple band The Smashing Pumpkins.

A band known for their loud signature sound infused with electronic elements, Smashing Pumpkins joins a list of artists including Ty Segall, Jack White and Brandi Carlile, who are all ditching electric instruments in favor of a stripped-down-sound tour.

“The Smashing Pumpkins: In Plainsong – An Acoustic-Electro Evening” Tour is a first for the band, and will run for a little over a week in mid-June, beginning in Buffalo, N.Y.

The Smashing Pumpkins  recently released a video for new single “Drum + Fife” on their Monuments to an Elegy album. The video calls attention to the thousands of veterans suffering from PTSD after returning home from duty.
