If you’re really into typography, then you’re in for a treat with Typographics, a two-day conference devoted to typography, being held from June 8-18 at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. The conference is targeted primarily toward designers who share unique interest in how the art of typography has evolved and where it’s headed.

“There are conferences on graphic design, and conferences on type design, but Typographics is devoted to typography—the use of type in every medium,” said Roger Black, a veteran publication designer who is collaborating on the conference.

More than 20 speakers from companies including Yahoo! and LetError will present a fundamental aspect bridging all content of graphic design.

At the end of the conference there will be one, two, three, and four-day workshops for people to choose from on subjects including hand-lettering, sign painting, calligraphy, font technology, digital publishing and responsive design. These workshops are available to the public, but conference attendees receive tuition discounts.
