Harper Lee’s upcoming To Kill a Mockingbird sequel, Go Set a Watchman, is now publishing house HarperCollins’ most pre-ordered book in its publishing history. According The Guardian, HarperCollins’ chief executive Robert Thomsen said: “It’s a fascinating, captivating, important book. It’s the most pre-ordered book in HarperCollins history.”
Go Set a Watchman takes place 20 years after the events of To Kill a Mockingbird and features Scout as an adult visiting her hometown of Maycomb. Lee wrote the book before To Kill a Mockingbird, but the manuscript was never published and Lee set it aside to focus on Scout as a child, thus ending up with what is now the literary classic.
Go Set a Watchman will be published on July 14.
