To everyone who has been wanting more girl power in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, guess what! Tilda Swinton is joining the cast the upcoming Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character. Swinton is best known for her roles in various art-house movies, and recently was in critically-acclaimed films Snowpiercer with Chris Evans and Only Lovers Left Alive with Tom Hiddleston (interesting trend starring alongside Marvel alumni, it’s clearly worked well for her).

Swinton has been cast as a character called the Ancient One, the mentor of Doctor Strange. What’s really fascinating is that this character was originally a male in the comics. Although this may disappoint some fans of the original print character, for the rest of us this seems like a welcome adjustment as Marvel Studios brings more variety to its ever-growing list of characters.

Doctor Strange arrives in theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
