If the name Alan Rickman doesn’t ring a bell, maybe this will help. Okay, that’s not really Alan Rickman—but neither is Severus Snape. If you think Daniel Radcliffe hates hearing he looks weird without his glasses, consider Alan Rickman—a man known almost universally for his (splendidly played) character in the Harry Potter series, but who also had two decades of stage and screen experience before he put on a wizard’s cape, having appeared in films like Die Hard, Sense and Sensibility and Truly, Madly, Deeply.
Update: Alan Rickman passed away this morning, Jan. 14, after a battle with cancer, according to his family. He was 69 years old.
