Everything about Christopher Lee was outsized: his 6-foot-5-inch frame, his 70-year film career, and the wonderfully wicked characters he played. The reluctant star of Hammer Horror’s Dracula films of the ’50s through ’70s, Lee finally sank his teeth into a meatier role as James Bond’s suave nemesis in The Man with the Golden Gun. After that he made a career inhabiting some of Hollywood’s favorite villains, notably in the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series. Lee died June 7 at age 93.
