I’m not saying that drinking beer at a baseball game is written into the corners of our Constitution, but the combo is pretty well institutionalized in this country. I’m not sure that I’ve ever watched a game without a cold one in my hand. And I’m talking Little League here, too. Maybe the greatest side effect of the craft beer boom is that you can get a decent craft beer at most major league ball stadiums these days (thank God), but if you really want to experience the perfect combo of baseball and beer, you need to hit a minor league game, where you can sit on the third base line for under $10 and watch future baseball giants duking it out while drinking a local beer brewed specifically for the home team. We found a number of breweries that are making easy-drinking beers in honor of their local minor league ball club. We even found one baseball team that has built its own brewery at the stadium. Now that’s American.
