Six years after releasing Daptone Gold, Daptone Records has announced a follow-up, simply titled Daptone Gold II, coming out on Sept. 18. The double album will serve as a greatest hits and rarities collection, featuring highlights from the Brooklyn soul label’s 13-year history.

In addition to 16 of the label’s best cuts, Daptone Gold II will include two previously unreleased tracks: an instrumental version of the Dap-Kings’ “Thunderclap,” and Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens’ “You Got to Move.” It also features three tracks that were only previously available as 45-rpm singles: Charles Bradley and LaRose Jackson’s “Luv Jones,” Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings’ “Little Boys With Shiny Toys” and the Como Mamas’ “Out of the Wilderness.”

Daptone Gold II will be available as either a standard CD or double LP, the latter of which is packaged in a silver foil gatefold sleeve and comes with a poster, liner notes and iron-on. It’s available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon now.
