Maybe you’ve seen Dan Finnerty as the wedding singer in The Hangover and Old School. Maybe you know that he leads his own band, the Dan Band, and has released a couple of albums and made a few soundtrack appearances. The Dan Band releases its latest record, The Wedding Album, tomorrow (new records come out on Fridays now, I know, it’s weird), and one of the songs features help from Jeremy Ruzumna of Fitz & the Tantrums. “Do It 2Night” puts into song the thought lurking at the back of the mind of everybody attending every wedding ever: these two overdressed people are going to do it tonight.

“I wanted to write a wedding reception dance track that sounded like the bastard love child of Prince and KC & The Sunshine Band,” Finnerty says. “I called up my friend Jeremy Ruzumna from Fitz & The Tantrums (because he WISHES he was the bastard love child of Prince and KC & The Sunshine Band) and asked him to help me out. ‘Do It 2Night’ is not only for the bride and groom on their big night, it’s also for their friends at the reception who are hoping to get some action, too. Good luck, everybody.”
