John Kellogg Hodgman, he of The Daily Show, many an underrated comedy series and those “Get a Mac” ads, is headed to a city near you, probably.

Hodgman has announced tour dates for his brand new live comedy show, Vacationland. The comedian will grace the stage in 12 cities, beginning in Boston on Sept. 12 and ending in Athens, Ohio on Nov. 7. New dates may also be added in the coming months.

Hodgman plans to discuss a number of important topics during his 75-minute, “one-human show,” which The Long Winters frontman John Roderick has dubbed a work of “white privilege mortality comedy.” These subjects include:

—[Hodgman’s] home commonwealth of Massachusetts, the birthplace of rage.
—His exile to the state of Maine, home to the world’s most painful beaches.
—The laws regarding the dumping of household garbage in various rural towns.
—How the people of various rural towns are probably planning to sacrifice you to their god.
—The evolutionary purpose of the weird dad mustache.
—How to decide which small animals you should love as members of your family and which you should kill with traps and poison.
—Other things he might think about that very morning—who knows?
—And how to tolerate the other great ambiguities of life, such as your death, garbage dumping (see above) and city buses, which, let’s face it, can pretty much end up going ANYWHERE if the driver goes crazy or just has a soul full of mischief. It’s terrifying.

The hilarious Hodgman has served as The Daily Show’s Resident Expert since 2006 and has appeared on Conan, The Late Late Show, @midnight, and This American Life. Hodgman has acted in FX’s Married, Adult Swim’s beloved The Venture Bros. and HBO’s all-too-short-lived Bored to Death. He is also the host of the popular Judge John Hodgman podcast, as well as a bestselling author. And naturally, Hodgman is no slouch as a stand-up—his 2012 comedy special Ragnarok recently made it into Paste’s top 25 stand-up specials on Netflix Instant.
