We’re thankful to Forecastle Festival for a lot of things. The lineup’s always pretty great from top to bottom. The waterfront views are hard to beat. And as you might imagine, the Bourbon Lodge has played host to plenty of good times. But the biggest thing Forecastle hooked us on was Louisville, and thanks to the impressive selection of after-parties, we came away from the weekend as taken with the local venues as we were the fest.
Headliners was one such venue, making its home in the cafeteria from an old distillery (it is Kentucky, y’all). White Reaper, a Louisville band who was fresh on the heels of a new album and had been getting non-stop play in the Paste office for weeks, was playing a late-night set at the venue with King Tuff, and the guys were kind enough to let us sit in for a few songs during sound check.
Watch “I Don’t Think She Cares” in the player above, and scroll down for performances of “Make Me Wanna Die,” “Pills,” “Sheila,” “B.T.K” and “Friday the 13th.” At the bottom of the page, take a peek at the band’s upcoming tour dates. And if you’re ever in Louisville, be sure to check out Headliners’ full list of upcoming events, too.
