PHASES recently headed into the Paste Studio to play a few tracks from their recent album, For Life, which was released earlier this year.

Formerly going by the name JJAMZ, the electropop band was originally joined by Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine, with whom they released an LP in 2012 titled Suicide Pact.

The LA-based foursome changed its name after the departure of Valentine and is made up of alums of some pretty killer acts: Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band), Z Berg (The Like), and Michael Runion.

Watch PHASES perform “I’m In Love With My Life,” “Cooler,” and “Spark” from For Life here.
