Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffeekicked off its seventh season with perhaps the biggest guest the show has ever hosted—leader of the free world, President Barack Obama. Seinfeld’s choice of car for such an occasion? A 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe … in “silver blue.” Swanky. Seinfeld says the sitting president “got off just enough funny lines” in his eight-year presidency to qualify for the appearance.
Unfortunately, though, Seinfeld’s car, although quite posh, does not offer quite enough security for the executive leader of the country, and the two are forced to switch over to the presidential motorcade.
The conversation between the two over decidedly pedestrian cups of Mr. Coffee sounds like it could have come straight out of an episode of Seinfeld. The pair discuss the trivialities of life in the White House, with discussion of Obama’s underwear drawer, the house’s thermostat and some of the president’s favorite pig-out food—which is apparently nachos. To the extent that if they aren’t taken away from him, he’ll have “guacamole coming out of my eyeballs.”
