Amazon Orders New Pilot from Transparent‘s Jill Soloway, I Love Dick

Provocative title!

Deadline reports that Amazon has ordered a new pilot from Transparent creator Jill Soloway, and it’s called I Love Dick. Details are sparse at the moment, but here’s what we know:

—It’s a half-hour comedy.

—It was written by playwright Sarah Gubbins, based on the Chris Kraus 1997 novel of the same name.

—The main characters are a married couple who are infatuated with a college professor (the titular Dick…and I’m very sorry for writing those three words).

—Per Deadline:

Told in Rashomon-style shifts of POV, I Love Dick charts the unraveling of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the reluctant deification of a man named Dick.

That’s all we know at the moment, but Transparent is so insanely good that we can only welcome this as terrific news. No word yet on when the pilot will go into production.
