I think I melted the first time I saw a Hyla Frank pillow. It wasn’t just the element of customization, or the immediate coziness of a good pillow, but Frank’s effortless style. The Los Angeles-based textile artist thrives on creating hand-embroidered goods and the motto, “sleep solves everything.” It’s a pretty comforting combo, especially since Frank’s first design was created to cheer up a friend moving into a new place without her dogs. In addition to her custom pup pillows, Frank creates sewn, embroidered and printed goods ranging from clothes to cards. Recently, the designer has even caught the eye of people like Ellen Degeneres, landing her in Degeneres’ new book, Home, and Terry Richardson, who scored his own face on one. And that’s not to mention that she also donates a portion of the proceeds to the dog rescue Wags and Walks. Yep, kind of in love.
