Folksy singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz will release her fourth album, Undercurrent, on Jun. 17. The new album will feature contributions from Guster’s Luke Reynolds, Parker Millsap, and her I’m With Her bandmates Sara Watkins and Aoife O’Donovan, among others.
It’s been three years since her last release, the Grammy-nominated Build Me Up From Bones, and she’s spent much of the intervening time on the road with Garrison Keillor as a co-host of A Prairie Home Companion—a sort of female equivalent to Nickel Creek’s Chris Thile, who will be taking over the show when Keillor retires. It’s hard to believe that Jarosz is already 24 years old—she was 19 when we featured her in our Best of What’s Next series in 2011. The still-young luminary is poised for a legendary career in bluegrass, folk and pop.
