Why get one legendary legacy act when you can get six at the same time?

That appears to be the thinking behind a new festival being planned by Coachella organizers Goldenvoice, according to the Los Angeles Times. Scheduled for Oct. 7-9 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, Calif., the festival is set to feature Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Neil Young and Roger Waters. All six acts will supposedly be playing full sets, as opposed to the abbreviated performances featured at most festivals.

“It’s so special in so many ways,” said Eliot Roberts, Young’s longtime manager. “You won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again. It’s a show I look forward to more than any show in a long time.”

An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks as negotiations are finalized. In the meantime, we’re already getting excited about the idea of baby boomers and teenagers coming together to pack a concert where the average age of the performers is 71.7 years old.
