Robinson is probably best known as one of the founding members of southern rock outfit The Black Crowes. Robinson started the group with his brother back in 1989 while they were both still high schoolers in Marietta, Georgia. It was actually during this time, when Robinson was just 15, that he wrote the music to The Black Crowes most famous song and breakout hit “She Talks To Angels.” Though Robinson had found success as a member of a unit, when the band took its first hiatus in 2002, he decided it was time to steer his sound in a new direction as a solo artist.

His most recent solo effort The Ceaseless Sight finds Robinson keeping with his tradition, and serious knack for writing melodic songs with detailed arrangements. Something happens with his music that makes each sound feel like it’s reaching out to you, like it was put there specifically for you to hear it and feel something at that precise moment. It’s a quality that makes him appealing across genres. You don’t have to like southern rock or Americana to appreciate the glory of Robinson’s work. The man is a meticulous and purposeful songwriter, making the live experience of his music a joy that’s one of a kind.
