When we last saw Jason Bourne in 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, he was swimming through the East River, having escaped death and/or capture yet again. Now, Matt Damon is back in maybe his most iconic role, and even though the trailer for the upcoming Jason Bourne shows clearly that the character has aged, he’s just as deadly as always. Try to count the bodies that pile up in a mere two minutes.
We have no idea what the plot of Jason Bourne is going to be—only that it involves a leak “bigger than Snowden” (nice contemporary reference, guys) and that Bourne and Nicky Parsons (again played by Julia Stiles) have to kill people in Greece and Las Vegas, if not other locations. Alicia Vikander makes an appearance, which can only be good news because Alicia Vikander is awesome, and Tommy Lee Jones looks to be playing some ambiguous CIA chief.
Jason Bourne is directed by Paul Greengrass, who helmed the previous two installations in the series, and is set for release on Jul. 29.
