According to The Japan Times, electronic music pioneer, Isao Tomita has died at 84. Tomita is credited for bringing analog synthesis and electronic music to Japan in 1971, when he imported a Moog III P synthesizer at a time when the instrument was all but unheard of in the country. One of Tomita’s better known albums, Snowflakes Are Dancing, consists entirely of arrangements of Claude Debussy’s “tone paintings.”
