Hinds, a four-piece band out of Madrid, has released the video for “Easy,” from their album Leave Me Alone, which hit stores in January of this year.

Leave Me Alone is the band’s debut full-length album, though they previously released an EP last year hilariously named Very Best of Hinds So Far. Hinds has a loose, garage-y aesthetic, but still manage to make their music sing-along-able. It’s both endearing and irresistibly fun. Their Spotify profile is equally wonderful, with plenty of playlists curated by them, including one titled “WOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” They’re the type of people you would want to be best friends with. In fact, we had the pleasure of hosting them in the Paste studio just a few months ago.

The video for “Easy” suits their casual messiness well, as it is literally messy. The band sport mascara-tear streaked cheeks, spaghetti-sauced mouths and to the probable horror of some, vomit pours from a couple of the women as they sing. Art is supposed to make you uncomfortable, though, right? In a press release, Hinds reveal that the video “explores the ways in which people torture themselves following a break-up: crying, binge-eating, excessive drinking, etc.” The video also comes with a delightfully honest note/caption from the band, which seems to be as important to the video as the music and explains some of the, er, artistic choices:

“easy” is the worst moment in the universe during a relationship cause you love him but he doesn’t anymore. And being in bed with him is giving him nightmares. And you are the hangover in his mornings, and the homework during the day and the pain in his arse. so when you reach that point you can’t help but self destruct. there is just nothing you can do, it’s too late to take it easy.

Having just come off of a largely sold-out world tour, Hinds will be playing a handful of dates in North America next month, the first stop being at Bonaroo. Watch the new video for “Easy” above and check out the list of upcoming North American tour dates below.
