Writer Matt Charman sold the pitch to Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners for a film focusing on Cronkite’s reporting on the Vietnam War. In 1968, Cronkite traveled to Vietnam to cover the repercussions of the Tet Offensive, and he later publicly criticized America’s intervention.
Charman, Spielberg, and Marc Platt are set to produce the project, but it is still unknown if Spielberg will direct, due to his packed schedule.
Per Variety, Charman has not yet written the script.
