Last year, 1,000 dedicated Foo Fighters fans gathered to perform “Learn to Fly” in a campaign to convince the Dave Grohl-fronted outfit to play their small town of Cesena, Italy.

The impressive feat worked, with the Foos kicking off the European leg of their tour in Cesena after Grohl offered a heartfelt thank-you in Italian.

Now, the massive rock ‘n’ roll army has soldiered on, growing both their numbers to include a whopping 1200 total vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers and keyboard players, and arming themselves with an impressive set of new covers.

Above is the Rockin’ Thousand’s hop-happy cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and below is fan-shot video of them playing The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” The Beatles’ “Come Together,” David Bowie’s “Rebel, Rebel” and the School of Rock version of AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock n’ Roll).”
