Hip-hop dynamic duo Run the Jewels are notorious for provocatively advocating social change, and their work on DJ Shadow’s “Nobody Speak” is certainly no exception. The video for the track was released today and is directed by Sam Pilling, who’s worked with the likes of J. Cole and The Weeknd. It portrays sentiments towards the 2016 presidential race in the most outlandishly profound way: a chaotic political committee meeting that the WWE would be envious of.
“It’s such a dope video,” says Killer Mike in the clip’s description. “It’s what I really wish Trump and Hillary would just do and get it over with … And even in that fight I think Hillary would win—and that’s not an endorsement.”
The video and song both speak to the level of political frustration currently unfolding in government and around the globe. With the constant fighting and name-calling, it is not that difficult to imagine a politician uttering the lyrics, “Nobody speak, nobody gets choked.” Watch the video for “Nobody Speak” above.
