Ever wondered what it would feel like to be a mega rockstar performing your biggest hit onstage? With the new virtual reality app “The Bohemian Rhapsody Experience,” you might be able to find out.
The app, which Queen and Google Play collaborated to create, simulates the experience of performing “Bohemian Rhapsody” with intricate animation and a spatialized mix of the music, both of which respond to the movements of the user. It works as a 360-degree video, but is best used with Google Cardboard, the head mount for VR applications. After all, it’s easy to feel like a rockstar when you’ve got a mound of cardboard stuck to your head.
Gareth Hornberger, Google Play’s brand manager, said that the project is “about showing a glimpse of what the future of music and VR could look like.”
“The Bohemian Rhapsody Experience” is currently available only for Android, but is coming soon to iOS devices near you. Watch a preview of the app below.
