Last night, Prince’s band, The Revolution, reunited for the first time since the singer’s untimely death. Last night’s show was the first of a scheduled three-date concert series.

The last time the band performed together was in 2012, but upon the musician’s death, they announced a three-night reunion in honor of the man who brought them together more than 30 years ago. The lineup includes original members Dez Dickerson, Matt Fink and Andre Cymone, and eventual members Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Brown Mark and Bobby Z.

The reunion is appropriately taking place at Minneapolis’ First Avenue, the venue where the concert scenes from the film Purple Rain take place. While the two remaining shows at First Avenue are the only set plans in the band’s future, there are rumors of a performance next month at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, though the date has not been confirmed.
