Wynonna Judd—founding member of the legendary country duo The Judds, singer, author, and inspirational performer—was one of the top-billed artists during last week’s Americanafest, the Americana Music Association’s (AMA) biggest event. The six-day/five-night-long festival included conferences, seminars, educational workshops, awards, performances, and more, taking place (officially) across 14 Nashville venues and featuring more than 215 acts.
Having recently caught up with the famed singer over the phone about her new album, Wynonna & the Big Noise, Judd let us in behind the scenes during a day of AMA. Her first appearance came at the Omni Nashville Hotel with an 8:30 AM call time (her response to which seemed to mirror everyone else’s: “I didn’t know there was more than one 8 o’clock each day!”). She and her husband/drummer/producer Cactus Moser participated in a Q&A with famed country music DJ and radio host Bob Kingsley during the National Association of Broadcasters’ (NAB) keynote session. Later that night, Judd, Moser and The Big Noise delivered a rollicking evening set at The Cannery Ballroom. Check out photos from the NAB session, performance, and more in the gallery.
