Even before Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald Trump, many believed that Bernie Sanders, who challenged Clinton during the Democratic primary, would have performed better. Now, according to CNN, a representative for Sanders has made a statement about last night’s results.
The statement, while fairly concise, is probably an accurate representation of Sanders’ feelings seeing last night’s results. It’s of course unclear whether Sanders’ populist message would have resonated with voters better than Clinton’s more moderate one, and it’s a question we’ll never get the answer to.
Sanders ultimately tossed his support behind Clinton, and campaigned for her heavily to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. Unfortunately for Sanders and his team, things didn’t go that way last night.
