We’ve already gotten a taste of what to expect from Neil Young’s forthcoming album Peace Trail with the anti-Dakota Access Pipeline protest song “Indian Givers.”
Now, the title track from the album is available, and it continues the stripped-back sound and political theme of its predecessor. Though it’s a little more general in its subject matter than “Indian Givers,” “Peace Trail” feels like it’s in the same vein as “Indian Givers” and Young’s history of determined, politically charged songs that he’s been performing since his days with Buffalo Springfield.
In related news, a large portion of Young’s discography is now back on Spotify and Apple Music after he removed his albums from the streaming services last year, citing poor sound quality.
“Peace Trail” is available to listen to on Spotify, iTunes, and through Young’s own site when you pre-order the album.
