Nine Inch Nails
have released the first song from their new EP, Not the Actual Events.
The EP, which was only announced a few days ago, represents the first new music released under the Nine Inch Nails banner since 2013’s Hesitation Marks. The new EP also represents the first music the band has released with Atticus Ross, who collaborates with Trent Reznor on film scores, as a full-time member.
The first single, titled “Burning Bright (Field on Fire),” is an unhinged and cloudy six minutes, filled with the kind of crazy ambient noise that the band utilizes so effectively.
Not the Actual Events is set to be released on Dec. 23, and can be preordered now on the Nine Inch Nails website. Reznor will be on Apple Music’s Beats 1 at 11 p.m. EST tonight to discuss the album and play the EP right before its midnight release.
