Bonnaroo 2017 Lineup Unveiled: U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper to Headline

Bonnaroo’s initial 2017 lineup has been unveiled as of this morning, with U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd and Chance the Rapper set to headline the Tennessee festival.

U2’s top slot is especially notable, as it will constitute the band’s first-ever U.S. festival headlining appearance. As will be the case on the rest of their 2017 tour, U2 will perform The Joshua Tree in its entirety during their ‘Roo set in celebration of the 1987 classic’s 30th anniversary.

Elsewhere, this year’s slate seems heavier than ever on party-starting electronic/dance acts, as Major Lazer, Flume and Marshmello all land near the top line. (EDM wunderkind Martin Garrix was also among that number in a previous version of the lineup, but Garrix will no longer perform at this year’s fest.) However, the lineup also boasts the kind of indie depth we’ve come to expect from ‘Roo, with Paste favorites including Car Seat Headrest, Joseph, Margo Price, Mandolin Orange and Lucy Dacus, to name a few, buried towards the lower end of the poster.

Bonnaroo  2017 is set for June 8-11 at, as always, Great Stage Park (a.k.a. The Farm) in Manchester, Tenn. Tickets are on sale now exclusively through Bonnaroo’s website. Find the complete festival lineup below, beneath Paste Cloud video from a 1986 U2 show.
