St. Louis progressive soul/pop artist Brandyn Burnette is a self taught musician that has found success writing hits for artists like MKTO and Jake Miller while also honing in on his own unique sound and style. While dabbling around in various projects such as Cosmos & Creature, a project with girlfriend and indie singer-songwriter Molly Moore, Burnette has found time to craft an EP full of soulfully dark vocals and deep beats while remaining true to his progressive pop sound. Today you can listen to the title track off Burnette’s upcoming EP, “Feature Film,” exclusively on Paste.
When discussing the track Burnette shares, “I wanted to write a song that captured the cinematic place my life was beginning to enter. Life felt like a movie, with all the plot twists and character developments in full swing. By the end of the process, I tried to imagine the life of a young movie starlet. How she must get so much attention already. I started reflecting on my own relationship. I'm in a band with the love of my life. Sometimes we're so involved in career that we forget what's in front of us. “Feature Film” is story about a man who finally appreciates the movie he's been watching right as it's ending."
“Feature Film” is the perfect blend of tender vocals with sweet yet sultry vibes. In other words, it’s the only track you need to be jamming out to this Valentine’s Day. Stream it in the player above and thank us later.
