Kid Rock Could Run for the Senate in His Home State of Michigan

Yep. That headline is real. This isn’t a case of fake news or some alternative fact. Kid Rock, he of “Bawitdaba” fame/infamy, could actually run for the Senate—or, at least, he has been suggested as a potential candidate.

Per Rollcall, the man who crafted Mitt Romney’s political campaign theme was recently brought up as a possible GOP contender against incumbent Democratic Debbie Stabenow.

Rock, or Robert Ritchie, to be more formal, was suggested by members of the Michigan Republican party at a recent convention, though there have been no candidates who have officially announced yet.

“I have not talked to Kid Rock about that,” said Michigan GOP press officer Sarah Anderson to Fox News. “I think he would be awesome.”

Stabenow’s been in the seat since 2001 and won her race in 2012 by 20.8 percent, so any challenge would be an uphill battle. But Rock is the “American Bad Ass,” so anything is possible. See him in action via the Paste Cloud below.
