Mobile Indie Hit Spelltower Gets Big Update, Increased Language Support

Spelltower, the mobile indie title developed by Zach Gage (Ridiculous Fishing, Really Bad Chess, Sage Solitaire), just received a huge update and increased language support.

For those who aren’t aware of the game, its official site describes it as follows:

Pick your words wisely! As you work, more tiles rise from the bottom of the screen, and it’ll take all of your lexicological wits, and tactical know-how to keep them down. If any of the letters make it to the top row, it’s game over.

With an expanded dictionary from Merriam-Webster, new game modes and updated visuals along with French and Dutch support, the popular iOS game just saw a whole lot of changes. Gage said about the update, “For a long time I’ve been wanting to give the game, and its fans, the update SpellTower deserves. I’m so happy to finally make it available!”

Per a press release, here’s the full list of changes and new additions:

Spelltower has all the great word-making gameplay of the originally released version with the following detailed features and improvements:

NEW! ZEN MODE : Puzzle mode without the length requirements — Spelltower Zen mode lets you keep going-and-going, as long as you can still find new words. For those with a strong vocabulary, the fun will almost never end.

NEW! SUPER TOWER MODE : Spelltower is now one of the only games with extra special support for iPad Pro Owners! Try and get the highest score possible from this extra big (4 times the size!) Tower Mode variant.

IMPROVED MULTIPLAYER : Bug fixes, and more, make it easier to challenge friends to Spelltower’s multiplayer ‘Debate Mode’ in-person, or over the Internet.

TAPTIC ENGINE SUPPORT : If you’re playing on a iPhone 7 or 7+, just wait till you make a 5+ letter word!

NEW VISUALS : The original groundbreaking design of Spelltower has been updated to fit modern expectations.

LOADS OF SMALLER IMPROVEMENTS: Bug fixes, long-time feature requests etc.

INTERNATIONAL VERSIONS RELEASED: Also released today are language Specific versions of Spelltower in French (Spelltower Français), and Dutch (Spelltower Nederlands), available now on the App Store … These are standalone language versions with special features for accented characters, and exclusive Game Center support for leaderboards and achievements.
