Netflix just released the trailer for Trevor Noah’s new comedy stand-up special, Trevor Noah: Afraid of the Dark, ahead of its streaming premiere on Feb. 21. Filmed in The Beacon Theater in New York City, Noah takes on weighty topics like race and colonialism in our present age, with a pretty good stinger on Britain. The South African comedian is the host of The Daily Show, so much of his political humor should bleed over into the special.
Noah is the latest addition to Netflix’s ever-growing list of Netflix comedy specials from people like Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Bo Burnham, Neal Brennan, John Mulaney, Sarah Silverman and later this year, Jerry Seinfeld. Netflix has become a great home for standup specials, allowing comedians to find easier distributing rights and a greater audience potential.
Check out the trailer above, and take a look into Afraid of the Dark on Netflix on Feb. 21.
