Over three months after the game’s announcement, Telltale has finally shown off the first images from May’s forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game, as well as revealed the title’s main voice cast.
Here’s today’s tweet from Telltale that brought us the screenshots:
The developer also announced the voice cast for each of the titular Guardians. Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) will play Star-Lord, Emily O’Brien (The Order: 1886, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) will lend her voice to Gamora, Nolan North (Uncharted, Pretty Little Liars) will star as Rocket Raccoon, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) will portray Drax the Destroyer and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us) will voice Groot.
Here’s the official synopsis for the game’s plot:
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience.
Last month, Eurogamer reported that Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal was working on a Guardians game of their own. While the report was never confirmed, it didn’t come as a shock considering the partnership announced between Marvel and Eidos’ parent company Square Enix only a week earlier.
