The full lineup for the Portland-based Bridgetown Comedy Festival has been officially announced, and it’s pretty great. In addition to the preliminary lineup, they’ve announced a number of performer highlights and a bunch of new segments as well, on top of the pre-festival performer Patton Oswalt. Can it get any better? Nope.
will be making his first Bridgetown appearance with his storytelling show Hold On with Eugene Mirman, where he sits down with special guests and finds humor in little details from their personal stories, likely by saying, “Wait …. Hold on,” over and over and over again. (He’s really sinking his teeth into Gene Belcher these days.) You’ll also get to see more than 50 comedians doing standup, including Janeane Garofalo, Andy Kindler, Myq Kaplan, Brooke Van Poppelen, Kevin Avery, Chris Fairbanks and many more.
There are also plenty of shows and segments to choose from, like the podcast Can I Pet Your Dog?, Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction with Bryan Cook, The Jackie and Laurie Show and The New Negroes with Baron Vaughn, to name a few. Every year, this is such a huge event—2017 is no different.
What is Bridgetown? Well, you’re weirdly far into the article to not know that, but we’re glad you asked. Here’s a little description that really sums up the beauty of this comedy festival, per a press release:
Long before Portlandia burst onto the scene, there was the Bridgetown Comedy Festival. Over the course of the past decade, Bridgetown has established itself as one of the most esteemed entertainment events on the West Coast, a celebration of innovative humor that proudly bears Portland’s signature style.
The Bridgetown Comedy Festival will be hosted in Portland, Ore., from May 4-7. Check out the full lineup of performers below, the full list of shows here and get tickets here.
