Hear the New Jason Isbell Single, "Hope the High Road"

Jason Isbell  has returned with a rollicking new single “Hope the High Road,” ahead of his new album The Nashville Sound, coming this summer. This single confirms reports that he’s embracing a new rock ‘n’ roll sound, and frankly, it’s wonderful.

Isbell seems to be attempting to move forward after a disastrous 2016, which was a doozy for everyone involved, and embracing a hopeful tone in his lyrics. “I know you’re tired and you ain’t sleeping well,” he sings. “Uninspired, and likely mad as hell. But wherever you are, I hope the high road leads you home again.” It’s also got a pretty dope slide guitar solo, which is an Isbell staple.

Jason Isbell  & The 400 Unit will release The Nashville Sound on June 16—find out more here. Check out the “Hope the High Road” lyric video below, and take a listen to some live Jason Isbell via the Paste Cloud beneath that.
