David Lynch Foundation, OBEY Clothing Release Shepard Fairey-Designed T-Shirt

The David Lynch Foundation and OBEY Clothing have collaborated to release an exclusive T-shirt. The shirt, designed by OBEY founder Shepard Fairey, features an original portrait of Lynch with a gold art-deco background. All proceeds from the shirt will go to the David Lynch Foundation, an organization dedicated to reducing PTSD symptoms in at-risk populations through meditation. Apparently, Lynch is a big proponent of Transcendental Meditation, a practice that involves meditating for about 20 minutes twice a day. (Of course he is.)

You may not have heard of Shepard Fairey, but you are probably familiar with a lot of his designs. Fairey got his start by designing the 1990 “André the Giant Has a Posse” sticker campaign. In 2008, he designed Obama’s iconic and much replicated HOPE poster. You may also have heard of Fairey because of his many legal issues and artistic appropriation scandals.

The T-shirt is available in men’s sizes for $28 and in women’s sizes for $31. (We can’t help but wonder, why the three dollar price hike? They are literally the same.) Ah well, we still love you, David Lynch. Especially when you’re eating a donut.
