O’Shea Jackson, Jr. is in talks to join the cast of Godzilla: King of Monsters, according to TheWrap. Jackson most recently played his father Ice Cube in the 2015 N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. There’s no word yet as to what role Jackson would play in the forthcoming Godzilla movie.
Jackson would join an already star-studded cast that includes Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and broody-browed Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. Godzilla: King of Monsters is the sequel to the 2014 Godzilla film, and will serve as a bridge toward the forthcoming 2020 film Godzilla vs. Kong. The release date for Godzilla: King of Monsters is still pretty far away: March 22, 2019. Fans of the Godzilla/Kong universe are probably aware that Kong: Skull Island is currently in theaters and doing fairly well, particularly in China.
