With Beyonce’s monumental pregnancy photoshoot and subsequent pregnant Grammy’s performance, it seems that pregnancy may be making a comeback in fashion circles. In the music video for James Blake’s “My Willing Heart,” Natalie Portman offers an intimate, stylish portrait of her own pregnancy.
The video, shot weeks before Portman delivered her second child Amalia, is in black-and-white. Directed by Anna Rose Holmer, the video finds Portman swimming and resting on her bed. Minute textures and lighting are extensively explored with the style and subtlety of a Terence Malick film. Also featured are Portman’s son Aleph, and a few kicks from Amalia.
Blake’s “My Willing Heart” is from his acclaimed recent album The Colour In Anything. Watch the music video above and read Paste’s review of Portman’s turn in Jackie here.
