Sometimes you watch Neymar play and you can’t help but think, “that’s not even fair.”
Late in the second half of their CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifier, Brazil was coasting with a 2-1 lead over Uruguay. A seleção defender launched the ball forward from deep inside his own half and it dropped just a little ahead of the onrushing Neymar. The young Barcelona forward muscled past his marker and shepherded the ball into the box. And when the keeper rushed out to close him down, Neymar made an exquisite chip for Brazil’s third goal of the night.
The visitors added a fourth goal before fulltime to all but confirm their spot for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
